The Features The Astak EZ Pro eBooks reader measures 6 x 4.1 x 0.4 inches, which is a tad tinier than a regular paperback novel. This allows enough space to place the E-ink display, which measures 5 inches with a resolution of 600 x 800. The front of the device also features a number of shortcut buttons. The eBook reader has 512 MB of memory, which you can further boost to 16 GB using an SD card. There's also a USB 2.0 port where you can transfer data and files immediately. The Astak EZ operates on Linux and has a Samsung ARM 9 400MHz processor. Should you notice any delays, this is more due to the e-paper and not the system. The gadget also includes a replaceable battery and will provide users with reading time lasting up to 2 weeks. The Astak EZ Pro supports a variety of formats and files, such as ADE, FB2, PDF, TXT, PRC, DOC, HTML, PDB, EPUB and LIT. As for images, it can display, GIF, TIF, GMP, JPG and PNG. Another thing that users like about the eBooks reader is the media player that lets you listen to MP3 music files as you read. Text reflowing technology is included for PDF files, and adjusts excellently even if the file was not meant for eBook reading. There's also text-to-speech, although this feature can be better with some improvements. Hardware controls are the only navigational tools on the reader. Both left-handed and right-handed people can enjoy the device via the page scrolling keys found at the left portion and a scroll wheel at the right. The EZ reader only weighs 6 ounces which is good for carrying with one hand. There's also multiple language support, allowing people to read in Japanese, French, Spanish, Chinese and English. Users can choose their own fonts. There are also three zoom levels, plus the e-ink is said to be richer, shaper and show better text than other eBooks readers in its class. With a price tag of only $199, this is a great buy.
